Memorize One Today

I remembered when I was younger, dad used to make us sit down and memorise a prayer.
From the shortest one “O God, Guide me” to the longest one “O God, refresh and gladden my spirit….” .
Hubby as young Roy, on the other hand, recalled that his dad would make them memorise the Hidden Words one by one.
So, now, both of us have a deal.
Every night, we will take turn to say out one Hidden Words from Baha’u’llah by heart.
Guess, tonight’s whose turn?

A home visit

Time flies and already, the second day of Chinese new year.
Went for home-visit somewhere in Bongawan and to my amazement, they are mostly sino-kadazans who celebrate CNY too.

Going Kasih Sayang on The First Day

First time celebrating the Chinese new year away from mum and Felix.  Thought that it would be devastating, but with hubby darling and the company of Vena, the beloved sister-in-law, I could see that CNY is not just about giving and receiving ang-pows or eating mandarin oranges.

(

Known as a health centre, Malaysia's very own, Kasih Sayang Health Resort is about 30 minutes away from Kota Kinabalu.

The resort is standing at 2400 above sea level, with a stunning 360 degree view of the surrounding.

Cloud 9 Restaurant offers some healthy items

A nice view of KK from the deck

A nearby farm

We had to walk down

.....and had a nice share of the the surrounding breeze and greenery

Was too excited to see strawberry growing from the tree.....

Hubby took strawberry photos

gotcha!

Enter the Dragon

Had a total different environment at this year’s reunion dinner.  Normally, at home, mum and I would prepare all the required food, from a once-a-year crab dish (yeah, we are trying hard to stay away from the high LDL cholesterol  piling up in the blood-stream) to the must have simple fried prawn, from early morning so that by 11am or 12 noon, we would be already sitting by the table and eating to usher in the new year.  Yeah, that’s early, normally to the foochows, correct me if I’m wrong.  This year, however, I have my beloved husband who is already calling himself half-chinese half-indian and few other Baha’i friends who are basically either half or none-chinese, sitting together to indulge the best of the many dishes prepared by Aunty Lily at her home with another half-chinese half-indian man aka the beloved husband, Uncle Mageswaran (hahaha!).  That’s what I called a great reunion dinner as one-big-happy family.  Love it!
So don’t just wait for the Dragon to come.  Well, let’s start eating!

That's fish and chickennnn!!!!

More and more dishes

All can't wait to eat!'

Bye-bye rabbit, hello to the dragon!
Happy Chinese New Year 2012 everyone!

Our Reception in the Cat City

Venue at Heliconia @ The Banquet and since it was located at the first floor of a shoplot, some of the guests apparently  lost their way.  Sorry guys.......huhu
From the east, we go to the west.
Thus, the second reception was made at my hometown, KUCHING, particularly at the beautifully decorated Heliconia @ The Banquet, 3rd Exchange Commercial Centre on Saturday, January the 14th.

Earlier in the morning, we also had a very simple tea-ceremony to pay respect to the elderly, particularly our granny who came all the way from Sarikei, to my late dad, both our mums, of course and our aunties & uncles!
