My raya visits

So how's your raya visits?
Besides drilling myself into the new Giant mall in Tabuan Jaya on the first day of raya ...yeah, it's a quiet aidilfitri celebration this year.
Though only went to three houses and managed to catch some beautiful faces, I found myself skipping dinner and breakfast the next day.

on the way, on the way......

The much healthier food in Kak June's house

Drooling Pizza

Went to Bella Italia and thought that I would be able to taste the best pizza in town
(Well, that's what most people here would say) but to my dismay, the restaurant was still closed.
So had to look for plan B and we ended up having pan pizzas at Silhouette Pizza @ tHe Spring Food Court.

Fan potatoes and baked salmon

Yes, what an awesome healthy dinner!
Caught a simple recipe from the book, marinate the fillets for an hour with a mixture of soy sauce+lemon juice+garlic+ginger+honey in the fridge and baked in the oven for roughly 20-30 minutes together with the potatoes.....

Pretttyyyyy ^^

Miley Cyrus - The Climb ( Lyrics)

A phone call last Friday morning was indeed an amazing surprise.
Worth the wait and no matter what it is,
"It's the climb.....And I, I got to be strong.  Just keep pushing on..."
as taken from the beautiful inspirational song from Miley Cyrus.....
Finger-crossed!

Making Capathi.....

One of my favourite indian dishes.....capathi, also known as Indian Flatbread.
Bestnyer.....Finally I have had the chance to watch and make, thanks to a great si-fu!  hehehe
The key ingredient.....Atta Flour......and I was introduced to this....

Mix with water, a little bit of cooking oil and bits of salt to taste!

Knead into a "dough" till you get the right consistency, the right smoothness and the right softness

Cover with a piece of wet cloth to keep it moist and leave it to rest  for roughly an hour

Meanwhile, get ready of this piece of instrument.....

....and sorry alicia, you're not supposed to be in the kitchen....^^

The dough is divided into equal portions as shown in the picture above.

Then rolled them (one by one) into a not-fixed-size circle (~6 - 7 inches)

A pan is heated on a medium flame and there goes the rolled-out capathi.......on the pan, of course.

Turn it on its other side with a spatula, and that's the first flip!  So the surface supposed to look like this....

Check the other side from time to time before flip for the second time.....a kitchen towel is pressed gently around its edges to encourage the capathi to finally puff out and ready to be served!  Yeay!

Lof Bakery in Town

So excited about a newly-opened bakery in town but only went there this afternoon
after a short coffee break at a nearby Secret Recipe outlet.
Lof Bakery, which is established in Brunei Darulsallam since 2008, has finally set its
first Malaysian outlet in Kuching, situated in Song Plaza near Brighton Square.

Cupcakes and errr....there were Ben 10, angry bird, Mr Bean mini cakes......

cutie sugar candies

And to my delight, ICE CREAM CAKES, can be found here!!!!

Going wholemeal and going healthy.  No cholesterol and no preservative.

Mum said this has tuna in it...really? But I definitely know there's a slice of cheese on top!

nice orange outlet!
