A Night & Half a Day in Sandakan

Not familiar with the road, we eventually reached Sandakan at 8:30 pm,
in time to attend the 19th-Day Feast with the Sandakan's Baha'i Community.
I was so tired and started to experience slight fever with watery eyes,
running nose and was sneezing every now and then.
However, the next morning, I slowly recovered, thanks to the comfy home of  Uncle Chok & Flora.
They even brought us for a fantastic heavy breakfast.
Yes, eating seafood, for the first time for breakfast!

Wooden houses by the river?  So where are we exactly?
So we are going to Restaurant Seafood Sim-Sim 88!

Now I understand why this place is so damn famous!
From the eagle's eyes.....
Low tide......and one could see litle creatures crawling around the wet sand
Huge limes!
small chillies
The lovely flora.....Hibiscus rosa-sinesis
A soothing mood surrounded the coming boat.....nice picture taken by Roy
Noodles with......SEAFOOD!
kueh tiaw with......SEAFOOD!
The very famous century egg dumplings
Can anybody guess where's the squid?
Don't think we would want to eat you, Mr Lobster?!!! Next time lah ahhhh~
Thanks so much Uncle Chok & Flora for bringing both of us around Sandakan Town,
where I know where Buli Sim-Sim is now!
We'll be back again!

Secret Recipe in Tawau

Packed with some activities on the previous night, oh, that was Day 1 in Tawau.....
it was time to return home....
Ooopsss, not exactly home....Roy thought it would be a great idea to de tour to
SANDAKAN
and stayed overnight in Uncle Chok & Flora's house!
So we only started our journey after having lunch at Secret Recipe, which
we thought the one of the few fast food franchises that was operating during Hari Raya.
By the way,
Selamat Hari Raya to all the Muslims around the world, especially to my friends and colleagues....

Beautiful red HEINZ
This was certainly the best fish fillet I have had ever enjoyed....
Sharing is caring!  That's cod fish with honey lemon mustard and certainly though hubby ordered a plate, I still have the share.....thanks honey!
Frankly speaking, I have not been eating ice-cream for almost a month.  Why?  I starting to crave on cakes, especially chocolaty cakes......but this Moist Chocolate Cake is not nice ler.......should have ordered tiramisu or indulgence instead, right?!
Roy didn't have rice for lunch, so, he insisted on ordering this to make him full....sweet and sour salad dish and I think they're using thai sauce.....sweet indeed, so, doesn't suit my taste....
After Secret Recipe, we had to find our way out from Tawau, thanks to Maps Google!
hehe.......

From Lahad Datu to Tawau

From the huge hectares and hectares of land covered with oil palm trees in Lahad Datu to the
third largest town of Sabah, it took another two hours for our beloved Dmax to travel.

Amazing view of how the oil palm industries in Sabah or rather...the huge contributions to our country's economy
Beautiful indeed~
Junction to Semporna (Left!) and Tawau (Right!)
Reaching already!!!!

...Checked in at Promenade Hotel, Tawau at 3:00 pm....it was already the time to have a break!
Free-sugar Cheese Cake from the bakery downstairs.....delicious indeed!
A perfect view of the city from the hotel room....and could see the blue Celebes Sea

Lunch at Dovist

Upon reaching Lahad Datu Town, new town to be exact,
we went to look out for place to relax and a quick lunch.
We ended up in Dovist Restaurant because surprisingly to me, most of the shops were closed.

Hmmm, wondering what was written there but thank goodness, the lady gave us a menu.
kit-chai ping! to freshen up the throat and body
Chicken Chop with fried rice and vegetable for Roy
nice presentation
Spicy noodle dish with colourful presentation
See the noodle...?!?!
After an hour, we continued with our remaining journey.....

Pre-Eid ul fitr Journey to Tawau

"It's definitely going to be a long day!"
Both hubby and I started our journey exactly at 6:23am from Kota Marudu home.
Our main destination was
TAWAU!!!

We were using the road via Pitas and Beluran
At 10:00 am, we were reaching the Mile 32 Check Point whereby one can go to the left to Sandakan or right to Lahad Datu or Tawau
By the time we arrived Lahad Datu, it was already noon time and ready to stop for lunch

Dos & Florinah

He's a Tembunuwo guy from Pitas while she's a Rungus girl from Kota Marudu.
They meet, he likes the girl, she later falls for him,
then both finally decides to build the fortress of happiness and unity........
