A bowl of Sea Bird's Nest

Boiled the nutritious seaweed jelly, cut in fine pieces, until dissolved.
With a little addition of red dates, ginger, honey or rock sugar and done
* Well that's one of the simplest recipe I've managed to follow....hehehe*

Specially flown all the way from Sabah for mum.......so sweet of him ^^ Thank you :))

Seaweed must be washed with clean, filtered/purified water to remove any attached salt.
Soak and change the water every one hour until 4-5 hours whereby the seaweed expanded loosely.

A bowl of Sea Bird Nest aka Eucheuma Seaweed ready to be served.
Known to have nutritional value that is higher than shark's fin plus the
collagen content are 10 times higher than shark's fin and bird's nest.  So, talking about beautifying the skin....hehe

Chocolate Banana Wholemeal Teacakes

Normally I don't eat super ripe bananas.
I rather leave them on the table until someone throws them away either into the garbage bin or.......
........into his/her mouth.  So this time, I thought, I would just turn them into a cake. ^^

Recipe from Alan Kok's I LOVE TASY & HEALTHY TREATS

Ingredients:

150g butter (I used the non-cholesterol ButterLite, not golden churn/margarine)
150 g brown sugar (this I reduced into around 100g and still taste sweet)
3 (omega) eggs
300g ripe banana, mashed
150g walnuts, coarsely chopped
2tbsp cocoa powder
150g wholemeal flour
100g plain flour
1tsp baking powder, mixed with 1/4 tsp baking soda

The final mixtures ~ ALL IN ~ before baking in the oven

 Method:

1.  Preheated oven to 200 degree celcius.  Grease the cake moulds
2.  Cream butter and brown sugar until well-mixed.
3.  Add in eggs one at time and beating well after each addition.
4.  Add in the remaining ingredients and mix well.  Spoon the batter into the moulds.
5.  Bake in the preheated oven for around 15-18 minutes or until cooked.

Now leave to cool and ready for serve

Wanna look real good?

althA fellow colleague loves to observe people and this morning, he encountered a lady who happened to walk by and from there, he knew she's sick.  Guess, a person's look is rather important.  To look real good and glowing from head to toe are all measures of health and vitality.  So, would like to share the ten-step facial to a healthy complexion without spending a fortune on cosmetics and commercial treatments (got all these from Reader's Digest:  1001 Easy Ways for Earth-Wise Living)....:)

KEEP OUT OF THE SUN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
This to prevent premature ageing and the risk of developing skin cancer

USE SUNSCREEN
Apply it about 30 minutes before you go out

EAT A DIET HIGH IN NATURAL FIBRE
Digestive problems can cause skin blemishes.  So eat lots of fruit, vegetables and whole grains.

TRY TO MINIMIZE OR COMPLETELY AVOID EXPOSURE TO YOUR SKIN'S NATURAL ENEMIES
Natural enemies? Yup and these include stress, too many late nights, coffee, alcohol and yeah, if you see people smoking in front of you, KEEP OUT! or you if smoke yourself, well....you know what to do....

AVOID SOAP
Choose a gentle cleansing oil or cream instead.

MOISTURISE YOUR FACE EVERY DAY
To achieve smoother and more even appearance

DRINK 8 GLASSES OF WATER A DAY
Even though you have to go to the loo like almost every 15 minutes

GIVE YOUR SKIN TIME TO REST AND BREATHE
Clean thoroughly and leaving it free of moisturisers and make up

APPLY FRUIT ACIDS IN THE FORM OF A FACE MASK
Enzymes and acids in the fruit help to slough off dead skin cells, fade age spots and make your skin appear brighter

REGULAR AEROBIC EXERCISE
Oh yes, no escape....

So, want to look young and good....like my mum at 56.......Love you mum!
