Mum's Portrait

Dedicated this particular post for my beloved mum!
Few portraits of her, captured during the first 3 days of Chinese New Year.
Wishing her always in a pink of health.....love you ma!

During the first day of Chinese New Year, when she wore a pink self-tailored blouse with a matching necklace.

During the second day of Chinese New Year when she wore a purple shirt, looking bright and shine.

Ready to go for dinner in a purple blouse with another matching purple necklace.

Bought her a bright pink necklace from the Filipino market and really suit her colourful dress!

Ma, miss you so much!

Mum's in Town

Oh No!  Am gaining almost 5 kilos within 2 weeks!
Too much of eating, especially when mum is in town.

I guess, the new gym is definitely waiting for me!

Guess we had to much of durian in the form of ice-cream!  Selling at RM3, one can enjoy the nice cone, exactly like a fresh durian.  Just drop by City Mall to grab one.

Had these in a friend's house and my goodness, mum and Felix love them so much we had to go to the bakery almost every day.  Seriously delicious!  So, while stock last, go grab all these at Uncle Biscuit, near the Damai Post Office ya!

Moo Cow Frozen Yogurt!  Got these at Lintas Plaza!

Soft Ice-cream at 1Borneo

Felix and Mum were totally crazy about durians!  So, I had to follow them to Just Berrys Dessert House also at Lintas Plaza for these!

Totally recommendable!

Last but not least, mum at the Sabah Foundation Building

Sorrow Not

As I was saying on my facebook status few days ago, I was really missing mum
especially when she had to be alone and isolated in the hospital for her radioiodine therapy.
Praying that it would be her final treatment because it was already the fifth time she had to consume the radioactive liquid!
Enough is enough!  I hope no more, please......
Thank goodness, and thanks to all the healing prayers and support from family and friends, near and afar,
she was discharged on the third day but had to go for a scan two days later
and after a long wait at the nuclear department
(which was really frustrating, as usual)
she was considered free of any so-called abnormal thyroid tissues.....
AT LAST!!!!

A picture of mum taken a year ago, after her double operations but still going strong!
But then come the no so good news......
something was detected somewhere somehow in one of her leg during the scanning.
Very little! But not sure how little!
The next thing I knew, I was already weaken and numb inside explaining to myself the reason for all these.
I was so upset like everybody else who also in the same situation,
confronting trial after trial, test after test.
Sigh~
Even hubby knew something was amiss when he noticed how dull-looking
I was after coming home from work and guess it, I couldn't hide anything from him.

So while attending Ruhi Book One later in the evening with friends from Kampung Mangin,
tutored by beloved hubby, there was indeed a refreshment for me
of the last section of the course about
Life and Death

Baha'u'llah says:
“O My servants! Sorrow not if, in these days and on this earthly plane, things
contrary to your wishes have been ordained and manifested by God, for days of
blissful joy, of heavenly delight, are assuredly in store for you. Worlds, holy and
spiritually glorious, will be unveiled to your eyes. You are destined by Him, in this
world and hereafter, to partake of their benefits, to share in their joys, and to obtain
a portion of their sustaining grace. To each and every one of them you will, no
doubt, attain.”

Roy looked at me, smiling.....making sure that I really understand
these beautiful words of Baha'u'llah and
I realized I need to let go all the tension and sadness of the
things that are not the way we want to be as everything
is ordained by God.
Most important thing to embrace is certainly the happy life hereafter.
So for the moment, we'll continue to support and make mum happy to boost her immune system, beat anything abnormal with proper food and enjoy her life.

Mum's Day at Secret Sanctuary Cottage Boutique

Took mum out for Mum's Day lunch at a private restaurant, surrounded by tropical environment and the relaxing, stress-free sounds of waterfall located at Taman Stutong Indah, Kuching, Sarawak.

Upon entering the place, you'll surely find these at the entrance

Hammock by the waterfall poolside and fish spa.  There are also other facilities for relaxation provided such as the Jacuzzi, steamroom and sauna.

While waiting for our food to arrive, we recharged ourselves with fresh, concentrated carrot juices in which were served without any sugar.

Wondering what mum's looking at.....

Here comes all the small fishes.............

Mum had a try on the fish spa as well........slowly immersing her two legs into the pond

That was a huge crowd of fishes busy cleansing mum's feet

hmmm.....looks like morning glory

Some korean dishes.......yes, I can smell and see Kimchi!
A healthy side of Bidin, cooked with garlic @ RM20.  Apart from Bidin, the restaurant also provide other local delicacies such as Umai and also Pansuh (upon request only)

Very fresh Assam Fish Head cooked with tempoyak @ RM48

BBQ Chicken @ RM28.  You can also find other Western dishes in the menu such as lamb and beef.  All freshly cooked!

A peek at the........washroom?

These fishes are definitely not moving at all!!!!

Another RAI

It has been a year already, after mum had her thyroid removed surgically (thyroidectomy) from her system.

Photo taken last March 22nd, 2011 showing the right side of mum's thyroid, the gland that is responsible in the production of thyroid hormone.

To my dismay, she still had to be given Radioactive Iodine (RAI) treatment, for the third time, yesterday.
Last she had was 6 months ago in October where she had to stay and be isolated for 5 days in the hospital.
Sigh!~  How much longer mum has to bear all this treatment.  Feeling isolated is one thing.
But then, I read this Hidden Words of Baha'u'llah:

O SON OF MAN!
Should prosperity befall thee, rejoice not, and should abasement come upon thee, grieve not,
for both shall pass away and be no more.

I am really, really looking forward for that hope!
Hoping that it'll be the last one, last treatment and no more!
Continue to pray for God's will, she'll completely recover!
She will!

Even Nee-Nee also hoping for the same thing....her beloved master will recover!

A Journey towards Recovery.....

After two operations and one radio-iodine treatment session,
mum is on her way towards recovery.....
Am so glad that she continues to remain strong and having that "happy-go-lucky" spirit in her heart
is truly amazing.....

Once again, so thankful and grateful for all the prayers and hopes
that were showered with love upon her.
You know who you are.
I love you all :)))

Knowing FOLLICULAR NEOPLASM

So googled this so-called term "Follicular Neoplasm" that actually occurs on none other than thyroid which is located in the neck area.
It is difficult to diagnose and usually discovered as a painless lump on the butterfly-shaped organ.

Based on Wikipedia, if Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) suggests Follicular Neoplasm, a surgical procedure called thyroid lobectomy should be performed to establish the histopathological diagnosis ~ means whether the lump is adenoma (benign) or carcinoma (maglinant).

The ultrasound that initially detect something is solid......

Finally, the diagnosis........

The last time I studied about the term called "Neoplasm" ........gosh, when was that?
Over 10 years ago, I think.
So when Dr Dayang told me of her findings on the FNAC of mum's thyroid,
I felt absolutely blank until that moment I could not hold back my tears anymore.......
