I want that BIG OVEN!!!

Oh, how I wish I had a big, sophisticated oven for me to bake some cakes and cookies.....and pizzas too.  Ihiks! So, for the moment, guess I will only rush to this newly-opened restaurant that serves mostly western food with its big oven.  Went there yesterday for dinner...for the second time.

Big Oven is situated at the Ground Floor, Lot 3249, Block 10, Lorong Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce.

That's specially for the pizza :)

A pot of japanese green tea (RM6.80) and you can ask for refill....I mean, more hot water :)

An opening appetizer.....wondering if this is free.......I dunno.....XP

Not used to the utensils being arranged like this....
mum kept on mumbling why the need of so many spoons, forks and knifes......tee hee

Indeed my favourite....at RM6.80 per plate :)

P-A-S-T-A!!!!! at RM15.00 per plate

Huge, appetizing and nice pizza.......at RM15.00

Something went wrong with my notebook's adapter and had to use Adobe Photoshop 5.0 Limited Edition, which is truly, truly limited in order to edit these photos taken by my

Almond Cookies

Managed to find the time today to make cookies based on a recipe I took from
The Kitchen Snippets

Ingredients:

160 gm of butter
150 gm of sugar ~ I used brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp of vanilla
220 gm of flour
80 gm of corn starch
3 tbsp of coffeemate powder
60 gm of almond powder

For the glaze ~ just need to use 1 egg yolk and some chopped almond

1) Mix flour, cornstarch, coffeemate and almond powder in a bowl. Mix well.
2) Cream sugar and butter until light and creamy. Then, add in egg and vanilla until well combined.
3) Slow down the speed of your mixer and slowly add in the flour until everything became dough.
4) Lightly dust the work surface with some flour and roll out the cookie dough to about 0.5cm thickness.
Cut out the dough with a cookies cutter into desire shapes.
5) Arrange cookies into a lightly greased baking tray.
6) Brush the top of the cookies with beaten egg yolk and sprinkle some almond on top.
6) Bake in a pre-heated 350 degree F oven for 15 minutes or lightly brown. Let cool on wire racks.

The Quiescent Pup

It's raining outside......NONSTOP....since this morning
and I could hear this old man living next door with his looooooooooong sigh.
Whilst on the other hand, these four busy, naughty little fellas are trying to find the perfect resting place
as shelter, away from the cold rain drops though their furry bodies are soaking wet.

Okay, that reminded me of this picture......

Nightmarish in Japan

Another fearful disaster nearly shattered Japan ~ the two minutes massive 8.9-magnitude quake hit at 2:46pm on Friday, the 11th, together with crushing tsunami that washed almost everything in their path.

How devastating!  ~ Picture taken from http://topuspost.com/

Burning fire.....and debris everywhere! ~ picture taken from http://topuspost.com

We and among those living in Malaysia are indeed very lucky to have, at least, can stay in our home in peace and can only watch these double catastrophes helplessly.

My hearts and thoughts go out to all the residence of Japan at this time.

Edamame at the Tarot Cafe

Actually these pictures were taken on last Saturday at the Tarot Cafe.
Just had few simple japanese/malay/chinese dishes for the breaking of fast.

Pssttt.....somebody is craving for Edamame, so thought of posting up these pictures....hahaha

Edamame ~ oh, I always thought these are greenbeans; instead they are actually immature soybeans.
The pods are basically boiled/steamed and they are full of nutrients/carbohydrates/proteins/dietary fibres.

Agedashi dofu a kind of japanese tofu dish....very nice indeed when served hot :)
Gong Pao Chicken with Rice

A kind of milk drink with jelly

A huge cup of Honey Lemon

Am stick with sky juice or rather, warm plain water :)

Chukka Wakame which is some kind of a seasoned seaweed salad, my favourite :)

Trust in Him

....yes, love in Him and trust in Him......

He is the All-Knowing and indeed, the Healer......

Knowing FOLLICULAR NEOPLASM

So googled this so-called term "Follicular Neoplasm" that actually occurs on none other than thyroid which is located in the neck area.
It is difficult to diagnose and usually discovered as a painless lump on the butterfly-shaped organ.

Based on Wikipedia, if Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) suggests Follicular Neoplasm, a surgical procedure called thyroid lobectomy should be performed to establish the histopathological diagnosis ~ means whether the lump is adenoma (benign) or carcinoma (maglinant).

The ultrasound that initially detect something is solid......

Finally, the diagnosis........

The last time I studied about the term called "Neoplasm" ........gosh, when was that?
Over 10 years ago, I think.
So when Dr Dayang told me of her findings on the FNAC of mum's thyroid,
I felt absolutely blank until that moment I could not hold back my tears anymore.......

Breaking of Fast I

It's already the third day of fasting for the Baha'is.
This evening the breaking of fast was held at the family of Uncle John Uri's residence.

the food on potluck basis.....

EATING time....happy break of fast.....

The Pups

These young, happy-looking puppies know nothing except having "a playful and wonderful" life together.
Wondering if they realize the need of their mother that gave birth to them and provide them with milk and protection.  Will they know that one day she might not be able to protect them anymore?

When Mum told me how much the two of us,
Felix and I,
grew up well and able to feed ourselves,
I left myself with such numbness and deafness.
I hope everything will be fine.......She'll be fine!
